Join us on a virtual trip to Paris for a literary tour with Samuél Lopez-Barrantes, a professor at Sorbonne Nouvelle and guide. This series will discuss three writers of the expat community in Paris; Ernest Hemingway, Gertrude Stein, and James Baldwin.
Each book discussion will meet from 10:30 AM – 12 PM PDT on the following dates on Zoom:
Tuesday, September 14th – A Moveable Feast by Ernest Hemingway
Tuesday, October 12th – Autobiography of Alice B. Toklas by Gertrude Stein
Tuesday, November 9th – Giovanni’s Room by James Baldwin
Book discussions are $40 individually or $110 for the series.

ABOUT OUR DISCUSSION LEADER
Samuél Lopez-Barrantes is a writer, teacher, and musician. He has lived in Paris for twelve years. His first novel, Slim and The Beast (2015) is a bildungsroman about brotherhood, male intimacy, and growing up in North Carolina. The book’s title has since become the name of Samuél’s Paris-based Indie Pop trio, which includes his twin brother Aaron. Samuél holds an M.A. in European Society from University College London and an MFA in Creative Writing from Vermont College of Fine Arts. He is currently a literary tour guide and online lecturer for Context Travel, and also teaches creative writing at Sorbonne Nouvelle: Paris III. Find out more at www.samuellopezbarrantes.com.
