Back by popular demand and fanned by the flames of Bridgerton, Professor Charles Lynn Batten will lead us back to the Regency Period with this series of discussions featuring the complete novels of Jane Austen.
Whether you’ve read all of Austen’s novels already, or if you’re experiencing them for the first time, The Jane Austen Book Club series is the perfect way to get the most out of these timeless works with the engaging and entertaining Professor Batten.
Each book club will meet from 10:30 a.m. – 12 noon PDT on the following dates:
Wednesday, March 3rd – Northanger Abbey
Wednesday, March 24th – Sense & Sensibility
Wednesday, April 14th – Pride & Prejudice
Wednesday, May 5th – Emma
Wednesday, May 26th – Mansfield Park
Wednesday, June 16th – Persuasion
Book groups are $40 individually or $200 for the full series.

ABOUT CHARLES LYNN BATTEN
Charles Lynn Batten is Emeritus Professor of English at UCLA. He began teaching there in 1969 and officially retired in 2009. The courses he taught ranged from Eighteenth-Century British Literature and Literary Criticism to the Bible as Literature and the Novels of Jane Austen. A recipient of UCLA’s Distinguished Teaching Award, Lynn loves teaching, books, and travel. Among his achievements, he brags that he has circled the globe entirely on its surface. Among his passions, he confesses that he has a not-so-secret fondness for Elizabeth Bennet.
