THIS EVENT IS SOLD OUT AND WAIT LIST ONLY. FOR MORE INFORMATION, E-MAIL US AT INFO@LITERARYAFFAIRS.NET.
Literary Affairs invites you to join us for a Beyond the Book experience at the Annenberg Space for Photography. We will be treated to a private curator tour of the current exhibit W|ALLS: Defend, Divide, and the Divine, featuring over 70 artists and photographers. The Annenberg Space for Photography website states that this exhibit is a historical look at civilization’s relationship with barriers, both real and imagined. This exhibit explores the various aspects of walls – artistic, social, political, and historical – in six sections: Delineation, Defense, Deterrent, The Divine, Decoration, and The Invisible.
Julie Robinson of Literary Affairs invites you to experience this powerful exhibit, which explores walls as objects of shifting meaning often open to interpretation, similar to how we experience art and literature. As part of the tour we will contemplate our own inner barriers and obstructions.

He only says, ‘Good fences make good neighbors.’
Spring is the mischief in me, and I wonder
If I could put a notion in his head:
‘Why do they make good neighbors? Isn’t it
Where there are cows? But here there are no cows.
Before I built a wall I’d ask to know
What I was walling in or walling out,
And to whom I was like to give offense.
Something there is that doesn’t love a wall,
That wants it down.’
…He says again, ‘Good fences make good neighbors.’
Excerpt from Mending Wall by Robert Frost
